Adobe Debuts Photoshop Lightroom 1.0
Adobe Systems Incorporated today announced that Adobe Photoshop Lightroom 1.0 software is now available for pre-order and is expected to ship in mid-February 2007. Photoshop Lightroom enables professional photographers to import, manage and present large volumes of digital photographs, helping photographers spend more time behind the lens and less time at the computer.

This major update to the gold standard of image resizing brings improved speed, rendering quality and new image controls. This new version supports Photoshop CS2 or CS3 Beta on Mac OS X and Photoshop CS2, CS3 Beta and Elements 4 or 5 on Windows XP or Vista. Mac version is a universal binary and runs natively on both PPC and Intel processors.

Microsoft Photo Info
Microsoft Photo Info is a new software add-in for Microsoft Windows that allows photographers to add, change and delete common "metadata" properties for digital photographs from inside Windows Explorer. It also provides enhanced "hover tips" and additional sort properties for digital photographs in Explorer (in Details view).

Adobe Photoshop CS3 beta now available
As a preview of things to come, Adobe released a beta version of the next generation Photoshop. It can be downloaded as a Windows application or as a Mac OS Universal Binary, and you will need a serial number to get it working. The serial can be easily obtained from Adobe, simply by providing your serial for CS2.
